My project involved studying the relationship between environmental noise and depression. The culmination of my Bachelor’s degree was a final performance (Guitar and Tabla based) which embodied characteristics of Indian Classical music, and a dissertation on the use of Indian Classical music in Music Therapy.Īfter graduating from my Bachelor’s degree, I enrolled on a Master’s degree in Arts-Health. I became familiar with the influence of visual art styles on music such as pointillism, expressionism and modernism in composition as well as aspects of world music, particularly Indian Classical and I familiarised myself with the basics of several different instruments apart from the guitar. Many of those students went on to study at university and pursue music as a career.ĭuring my time at the university of central Lancashire, I became acquainted with a diverse range of musical styles, I was involved in the composition of pieces of film music, writing background music for poems and art instillations, as well as several interdisciplinary projects. We created Rock covers of Pop songs by the likes of Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine, and performed at venues in the Blackburn area.Īt the age of sixteen I passed grade eight on guitar and began to take on paying students. I helped to form a couple of bands whilst I was at school which prepared me to play a leading role in more serious projects later.Īfter having left school with an A+ in Music, I enrolled on Access to Music: Advanced Diploma in Popular Music Practice at Blackburn College where I joined a rock band consisting of other students on my course. My first choices in genre at the time were Rock and Metal. I began playing the electric guitar at the age of twelve and was driven passionately by an insatiable desire to master the instrument through my teens. I am currently working on a new album which will be due for release towards the end of 2019. My recent release, entitled ‘Veil of Years’ is available for streaming/ download on Amazon and most other digital streaming/ download platforms.
