Podcast listening isn’t time-sensitive, so you can easily afford waiting a day to listen to a new episode. Now I need to hunt for my downloaded episodes every time. Another thing to remember is that Pocket Casts allows you to manually add podcasts to a specific playlist, so you can create a tailored playlist with only a few episodes from different subscriptions. ![]() I would just download a chunk, they'd move to the top, I'd listen through those and repeat when necessary. ![]() We round up alternatives including Overcast, Downcast, Castro, Pocket Casts, and Apple's own Podcasts app. I often find myself going to the beginning of a long running show, and it was really nice to not have to scroll all the way through every single time. Pocket Casts has always offered one of the best playback features set you can find in any podcast player on the market. A once-popular iOS podcast client is going away.
